Beautiful Brussels

Time truly flies when you’re having fun and we’re now on the last leg of our whirlwind travel adventure. With the race out of the way, it’s time to try to enjoy the remaining days of our furlough. Fortunately, no more flight cancellation this time so we were able to save some time (train ride from Hamburg to Brussels is about 6 hours vs 1 hr flight).

As our last stop, we took time to take in the sights this time, going around the city on our first day. Waffles, fries, beer, chocolates— all checked on the first day as well 😊

We then ventured into two of the oldest and charming towns near Brussels – Ghent and Bruge. Distinguished by its canals, cobbled streets and medieval buildings, both cities were a gem despite the rainy, cold day.

We spent our last day back in the city, revisiting Brussels famous landmarks – the office of the European Commission; Cinquantenaire/ Jubel Park (a 30-hectare public park); various churches; the Manneken Pis (‘Little Pissing Man’) of course – which is one of the best known symbols of Belgium and his sister – the Jeanneke Pis; and something one shouldn’t and wouldn’t miss – the Grand-Place. It is the central square of the City of Brussels and is considered as one of the most beautiful places in the world.

It was an exciting, action-packed, dizzying 10-days adventure. New memories made with unforgettable experiences – moments we live for. On to the next 🥳
